Box Score 2 Boca Raton – Friday was opening day for the Lynn Fighting Knights, and they wasted no time in picking up their first win of the season. After losing the first game 1-0, Lynn came back in game two and pulled out the 4-3 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1):
- In the first inning, Madison Prickett earned her first strikeout of the season on the first batter, ending the inning with 2 K's.
- In the bottom of the third, Aryana Galioto singled to third for the first hit of the season for the Fighting Knights. She would also steal second during the next at-bat.
- In the top of the fourth, Prickett added two more strikeouts.
- Karlie Sweiderk picked up her first hit of the season and added a stolen base in the bottom of the fifth.
- Webber International collected the lone run of the game on a sac-fly in the top of the sixth.
- Destiny Torres collected her first hit in the bottom of the sixth. Following her hit, she stole second.
- Despite the loss, Prickett pitched a great complete game. She finished with one run allowed on two hits, three walks, and seven strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 2):
- In the first inning, the first three runners all reached on base. Taylor Scala reached on an error and stole second, Torres and Bailey Fernandez were both hit by a pitch. The Fighting Knights, however, were not able to put any runs on the board.
- Faith Miller would collect her first two strikeouts of the season in the top of the second inning while adding two more in the top of the third.
- In the top of the fourth, the Warriors jumped out in front by two runs.
- Following that, a solo home run in the top of the fifth saw the Warriors go up 3-0.
- In the bottom of the fifth, the Fighting Knights' bats finally came to life.
- Morgan Simpson reached on a fielders choice and stole second to get the Fighting Knights started.
- Galioto then hit a single to advance Simpson. Galioto stole second following the hit.
- Scala collected the first RBI of the season for the Fighting Knights when she drove in Simpson and advanced Galioto to third.
- During the next at bat, a wild pitch would score Galioto and advance Scala to third. A groundout for Torres collected her an RBI as Scala ran home to tie the game 3-3.
- In the bottom of the sixth, Simpson reached on an error which scored Sweiderk to give the Fighting Knights the lead 4-3.
- Miller collected her first win of the season after pitching five innings. She finished with five K's, three hits, two walks, and no earned runs.
- The team finished with four runs on three hits and two walks. They only had two strikeouts.
- First-year head coach Cassi Pickett picked up her first win as the leader of the Fighting Knights.

The Fighting Knights won't have much time to recover as they head to St. Augustine to play Queens University and Flagler College on Saturday, Feb. 5th at 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
