Fighting Knights roll over Palm Beach Atlantic 17-3

Boca Raton, Florida – The Fighting Knights put together a complete performance against Palm Beach Atlantic, securing a 17-3 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Fighting Knights would put this game out of reach early with a 7-0 first quarter.
  • Mallory Jarka would score the first goal for Lynn and they would never look back. Danielle Farinas had her hands in everything in the opening quarter with two assists and a goal.
  • In the second quarter the scoring slowed down for the Fighting Knights, but they continued to dominate defensively. Farinas would score the first goal of the quarter with five minutes left to give Lynn an 8-0 lead.
  • Palm Beach Atlantic would only score one goal in the whole first half. Ciara Moorman had eight first-half saves, suffocating the Sailfish offense.
  • In the third quarter Lynn would keep their foot on the gas, allowing one goal by Palm Beach Atlantic in the quarter. Farinas would assist Kristyn Johnson on the first goal of the third quarter for the Fighting Knights.
  • The fourth quarter was much like the third with three goals scored in the period. Goals by Ava Trankina, Isabella Clark, and Lauren Dickson were the icing on the cake to a dominant 17-3 victory.
  • Moorman would be the catalyst on the defensive end with 13 saves on 16 shots against.
  • Johnson, Hill, and Clark controlled the offensive for the Fighting Knights combining for nine goals and five assists. Farinas and Dickson also had two goals for the game.
  • Farinas and Clark would finish the game with a team-high three assists each. 
  • Bayley Tracy, Jarka, Carly McNeil, and Trankina would each have one goal in the game for the Fighting Knights.
  • Lynn was able to win the groundball battle 23-19, which proved to be crucial in stretching the lead early in the game. The Fighting Knights were able to complete 16-21 clears, compared to 11-17 for Palm Beach Atlantic, as Lynn would dominate the time of possession throughout the game.

The Fighting Knights will welcome Eastern Connecticut State to Bobby Campbell Stadium on Saturday, Mar. 19 at 6 p.m.
