Clark named SSC Midfield Player of the Year; four Fighting Knights earn All-SSC honors

ORLANDO, Fla. - Four members of the Lynn University women's lacrosse team were recognized by the Sunshine State Conference for their standout 2026 seasons, as Rebecca Clark and Emily Solomon earned First Team All-SSC honors, while ElizabethWLAX All-SSC 2026 (Clark & Solomon) Clagett and Angelia Huggins were named to the Second Team, the league office announced Friday. Clark was also tabbed the SSC Midfield Player of the Year, further cementing her status as one of the conference's premier players.
 
Leading the way for the Fighting Knights is senior midfielder Rebecca Clark, who capped off one of the most dominant seasons in program history by also being named the SSC Midfield Player of the Year. Clark totaled 50 goals and 16 assists for 66 points, ranking among the league leaders in both goals per game (3.13) and points per game (4.13). She finished fifth in the SSC in goals per game and sixth in points per game, while also contributing across the field with a team-best 47 ground balls, 45 draw controls, and 37 caused turnovers.  Her ability to impact every phase of the game was highlighted by multiple explosive performances, including an eight-goal outing against Tampa and a nine-point effort (8G, 1A) later in the season.
 
Anchoring the defensive unit, senior Emily Solomon earned First Team All-SSC recognition following a standout year as one of the league's top defenders. Solomon recorded 33 ground balls (2.06 per game) and ranked among the SSC leaders with 50 draw controls (3.13 per game), showcasing her versatility in both defensive stops and possession control. She added a team-high 53 caused turnovers, consistently disrupting opposing offenses and serving as a cornerstone of Lynn's defensive identity.
 
Senior midfielder Elizabeth Clagett turned in a well-rounded campaign en route to Second Team honors, finishing third on the team with 37 goals and adding 16 assists for 53 points. Clagett ranked among the SSC's top scorers at 2.31 goals per game and 3.31 points per game, while also contributing 33 ground balls and 31 draw controls.  Her consistency was key throughout the season, highlighted by a six-goal performance against Florida Tech and multiple multi-point efforts in conference play.
 
Junior attacker Angelia Huggins also secured Second Team All-SSC recognition after emerging as one of Lynn's most efficient offensive playmakers. Huggins recorded 30 goals and 24 assists for 54 points, ranking among the conference leaders with 1.60WLAX All-SSC 2026 Second Team (Clagett and Huggins) assists per game and 3.60 points per game. Her ability to both score and facilitate was evident throughout the year, including an eight-point outing (4G, 4A) against Rollins and multiple games with five or more points.
 
As a team, the Fighting Knights totaled 215 goals and averaged 13.44 goals per game, placing them among the top offensive units in the conference.  The quartet of All-SSC selections played a pivotal role in that success, leading Lynn to a 9-7 overall record and continuing to establish the program as a competitive force within the SSC.
