Tampa, Florida – Coming off of a big team win vs Palm Beach Atlantic, the Fighting Knights faced the number one team in the country, Tampa.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • After the Spartans went up 2-0 early, the Fighting Knights got on the board from a Caleb Wells goal. Matthew Ilchuk had the assist on the first Lynn goal.
  • Trailing 5-1 early in the second quarter, Wells and Ilchuk combined again on another goal for Lynn.
  • Down 6-2, Lynn scored a quick three goals in a 1:45.
  • Ilchuk, Wells, and Colby Keefe all scored unassisted for Lynn to trail only 6-5.
  • The Spartans scored four more goals before Xander Cosenza scored toward the end of the half. Lynn trailed 10-6 at the half.
  • Down 11-6, two scores from Ilchuk and Cosenza had Lynn down by three with over 12 minutes left in the third quarter.
  • Tampa put up five more goals before Joseph Michalski scored for Lynn from Ilchuk.
  • Opening the fourth quarter, Keefe scored for Lynn to be down 16-10. Lynn would lose 18-10.
  • Ilchuk led the Fighting Knights with two goals and three assists.
  • Wells had a hat trick for Lynn.
  • Cosenza and Keefe both had two goals.
  • Colin Casey had 21 saves on 39 shots.
