Fighting Knights lose to No. 11 Rollins

Winter Park, Florida – Coming off of a close game vs Florida Tech, the Fighting Knights traveled to Winter Park to face No. 11 Rollins College.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Fighting Knights struck first tonight. Matthew Ilchuk scored for Lynn just 1:58 into the game.
  • After Rollins tied it up, Caleb Wells scored for Lynn from Colby Keefe with 3:24 to go in the first quarter.
  • Before the quarter would end, Rollins tied it up again and then scored first in the second to go up 3-2.
  • Just :45 seconds later, Connor Houston would tie it up for the Fighting Knights.
  • The Fighting Knights added two more goals in a row. First, Thomas Murray scored to take the lead back and then Keefe would add a goal of his own.
  • Rollins added three more goals before the end of the first half to go up 6-5.
  • Coming out of the half, the Tars would score four more goals, leading 10-5.
  • Ilchuk scored again for the Fighting Knights on the man-up from Tyler Hopkins to be be within four.
  • The Fighting Knights scored two more goals to start the fourth quarter. Houston scored his second just over two minutes in and then Wells scored again from Tommy Ruddo to be down 10-8.
  • Just after Rollins scored again to go up 11-8, Xander Cosenza got on the score sheet to put the Fighting Knights within two.
  • Rollins scored two more goals before the end of the game to win 13-9.
  • Wells, Houston, and Ilchuk led the Fighting Knights with two goals each.
  • Keefe had a goal and an assist.
  • Cosenza and Murray both had one goal.
  • Ruddo and Hopkins both had an assist.
  • Colin Casey had ten saves on 23 shots.
