AVE MARIA, Fla. – The Lynn University men's cross-country team finished its race at the Ave Maria Invite on Saturday morning with a runner-up showing in the eight team field. The Fighting Knights were led by David Cueje Luque, who earned the victory on the 8K course. Cueje Luque's victory is the first individual victory in program history.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior David Cueje Luque won the 8k race, crossing the finish line with a time of 26.55.60
- Junior
Luke Anthony Sweatman (4th/27:11.60) and sophomore
Renzo Almeida (9th/27:46.10) earned a pair of top-10 finishes
- Sophomore
Robert Davidson (20th/29:31.20) and junior
Cameron Matejka (22nd/29:36.70) finished inside the top-25
- Freshmen
Kyle Juliano (55th/32:13.70) and
Ethan Friedman (56th/32:29.79) crossed the finish line in just under 33 minutes
- Sophomore
Netsanet Collins (68th/35:27.89) and freshman
Jack Flavin (73rd/37:23.50) rounded out the top-75 finishers for Lynn

- The Fighting Knights will race on Saturday, Oct. 21 in the Sunshine State Conference Championship at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Fla. The race is set to begin at 7:55 a.m.
