SPARKS, Md. - USA Lacrosse revealed its 2025 NCAA Division II men's All-Americans and Lynn University senior defender
Matthew Canedo was named to the Honorable Mention team.

As the leader of the stout Lynn defense, Canedo led all defenders in the SSC with 37 caused turnovers for 2.47 a game. He was active in all 15 games of the 2025 season, accounting for 43 ground balls and his first goal as a Fighting Knight back in the 11-10 win over Southern New Hampshire. He put together two standout defensive performances against both Embry-Riddle and Florida Southern, recording a career-best seven caused turnovers in each contest.

Canedo spearheaded a defense that allowed the least amount of goals in the Sunshine State Conference at 135 for a 9.20 average.

Canedo's selection marks the first time in program history that a Fighting Knight has been selected as a USA Lacrosse All-American. He has also been named a selection to the All-SSC First Team this season.
