ORLANDO, Fla. - Lynn University junior Jessica Lombardo was named the Sunshine State Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, as announced by the league office Wednesday.

The honor comes after Lombardo captured the individual title at the 27th FLRunners.com Invitational at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Florida.

Lombardo won the women's 6K with a time of 22:45.98, finishing more than 11 seconds ahead of runner-up Chloe Goessl of State College of Florida. Her first-place finish earned the Fighting Knights one team point and helped Lynn take third overall with 55 points, just two behind second-place Saint Leo.

The victory marked Lombardo's first individual title of the 2026 season and continued a strong start to her junior campaign. She has paced the Fighting Knights in each of their first four meets this fall and has finished among the top four overall in three of those appearances.

Lombardo also continued to lower her 6K time, improving from 23:29.73 at the STU Bobcat Invitational to 22:48.4 at the FSU Pre-Regional before posting a season-best 22:45.98 at the FLRunners.com Invitational.

Wednesday's selection marks Lombardo's second SSC Runner of the Week honor this season. She previously earned the award following her performance at the STU Bobcat Invitational, where she finished second overall and first among collegiate runners in 23:29.73 while helping Lynn to a runner-up team finish.
