MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - Jessica Lombardo and Annabelle Daley claimed the top two scoring positions to lead the Lynn University women's cross country team to a runner-up finish, while the Fighting Knight men took fourth at the STU Bobcat Invitational on Friday.

Competing on the St. Thomas University campus, the women finished with 59 points, trailing only Nova Southeastern's 31. The Lynn men totaled 102 points in the 8K, finishing just two points behind third-place New College of Florida.

FIGHTING KNIGHT WOMEN:
- Lombardo led the Fighting Knights for the second consecutive meet, completing the 6K in 23:29.73. She finished second overall behind unattached runner Julia Webb, making Lombardo the top collegiate finisher and earning one team point
- Daley was right behind her, crossing third overall and second among collegiate scorers with a time of 23:44.00. Lynn was the only team to place two scoring runners among the first five finishers
- Madison Shatkus was Lynn's third finisher, taking 21st overall in 27:58.72 and contributing 15 points
- Mia Gagliardi crossed in 28:45.99 to finish 28th overall and score 20 points
- Lindsey Byer completed Lynn's scoring five in 29th with a time of 29:13.17 and 21 points
- The Fighting Knights' 59 points earned them second place in the five-team field, eight points clear of third-place Barry
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT MEN:
- Jackson Wood paced the Lynn men for the second consecutive race, finishing 11th overall in 28:50.90 and earning 11 team points
- Dylan Herzog gave Lynn a second runner inside the top 20, crossing 17th overall in 29:43.56 for 15 points
- Brett Guyett followed in 22nd with a time of 29:59.50, giving the Fighting Knights three finishers under the 30-minute mark
- Denzel Rigaud was Lynn's fourth scorer, finishing 27th in 30:43.97 and collecting 24 points
- Logan Goelz rounded out the scoring five with a 31:35.25 effort, good for 36th overall and 32 team points
- Ethan Chance finished in 32:21.91, while Colton Barry crossed in 32:32.24
- Lynn finished fourth with 102 points, just two points behind New College of Florida (100) for third

Lynn is back in action next Friday as the Fighting Knights make the trek to Tallahassee for the Florida State University Pre-Regional at Apalachee Regional Park.
