ORLANDO, Fla. – Lynn University women's cross country standout Jessica Lombardo was named the Sunshine State Conference Runner of the Week, as announced by the league office Wednesday morning.

Lombardo earned the weekly honor following a standout performance at the STU Bobcat Invitational in Miami Gardens, where she led the Fighting Knights to a runner-up team finish.

The junior completed the 6K in 23:29.73, finishing second overall and first among collegiate runners. Lombardo earned the top scoring position in the field as Lynn accumulated 59 points to finish second behind Nova Southeastern and ahead of SSC rival Barry.

Lombardo was joined near the front of the field by teammate Annabelle Daley, who finished third overall in 23:44.00. The duo gave Lynn the top two collegiate scoring positions in the race.

The honor follows a strong start to the 2026 campaign for Lombardo. She also paced the Fighting Knights at the season-opening Keiser Flagship Cross Country Invitational, placing fourth overall in the 5K with a time of 18:46.42.

Lombardo has now been Lynn's top finisher in each of the Fighting Knights' first two meets of the season.
