playing soccer during the 2021 season, Nuutinen continues to shine on the international stage, carrying Fighting Knight pride into one of the world's premier sporting events.

Nuutinen has logged key minutes for Finland during Group A play, contributing to a pivotal 3–1 victory over Switzerland earlier this week. Finland now prepares for a quarterfinal playoff rematch against Switzerland on Saturday, Feb. 14, as Nuutinen looks to help guide her national team deeper into Olympic competition. Fighting Knight supporters can catch Finland in action Saturday afternoon.
Â
During her time at Lynn, Nuutinen appeared in seven matches for the Fighting Knights women's soccer team, earning seven starts while tallying two goals including a brace against Flagler along with an assist. Though known globally for her ice hockey career, her brief but impactful stint in Lynn blue and white reflected the same competitiveness and versatility that have defined her international success.
Â
Before arriving at Lynn, Nuutinen competed at Mercyhurst University, continuing a hockey journey that began in Finland and quickly elevated her to elite status. A veteran of Olympic and international play, she first appeared on the Olympic stage in 2014 as the youngest member of Team Finland and returned again in 2018. Between Games, she helped Finland capture IIHF World Championship bronze medals in 2015 and 2017 and was part of the historic silver medal squad in 2019, marking the first team to break the long-standing Canada-United States hold on the top two podium spots.
Â
Her international résumé began even earlier with Finland's U18 national team, where she earned Media All-Star honors in 2013 as one of the tournament's top forwards. Now competing in another Olympic cycle, Nuutinen continues to demonstrate the poise, skill, and leadership that have defined her career.
Â
The Fighting Knights community celebrates Nuutinen's achievements and proudly supports her Olympic journey. From Boca Raton to Milano-Cortina, Lynn Athletics stands behind one of its own as she competes on hockey's biggest stage.
