Huggins claims first career SSC Offensive Player of the Week honor

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference announced its weekly award winners Monday, and Lynn women's lacrosse junior attacker Angelia Huggins earned SSC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career.

Huggins anchored a Lynn offense that erupted for 25 goals over a two-game stretch, delivering a dynamic all-around performance with four goals and five assists against No. 4 Florida Southern and Colorado Mesa. She averaged 2.50 assists per game (five total) on the week, the second-highest mark in the Sunshine State Conference this season. She also lead the Fighting Knights with three goals and five assists (eight points) in the 15-9 victory against Colorado Mesa in the home opener on Sunday.

Her offensive impact helped propel Lynn into the national spotlight, as the Fighting Knights climbed to No. 10 in the latest IWCLA Division II poll.

Huggins and the Fighting Knights return to action on Friday, Feb. 20, hosting No. 2 Adelphi at 4:00 p.m.
