BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University women's tennis team enters the Spring 2026 season with a blend of elite talent, experienced leadership, and promising newcomers as the Fighting Knights look to compete at the top of the Sunshine State Conference under head coach
Mike Perez.
Leading the charge is
Salma Djoubri, who enters the spring ranked No. 2 nationally in Division II singles play.
"We don't look at her as the No. 2 player in the country—we think she's the best player in the country," Perez said. "She wasn't able to go to nationals in the fall because of injury, but she's training hard and preparing the right way."
Lynn returns a strong core of experienced players in
Carla Galmiche and
Kristen Younes, along with freshman
Meadow Garcia, who gained valuable experience during the fall season. Perez noted significant growth across the lineup during the fall postseason.
"They've really grown as players," Perez said. "They're making better decisions and understanding what we do well."
Galmiche and Younes earned All-America honors in doubles play last season, providing leadership and continuity for a lineup that blends veteran experience with new faces.
"These players know what we expect," Perez said. "They understand our discipline and our style, and they can help guide the younger players as they adjust."
Among the newcomers, Perez highlighted
Lia Koshiki Mosimann as an athletic addition with a bright future, acknowledging both the challenge and opportunity of competing in the SSC.
"This conference is extremely difficult," Perez said. "If you're finishing top three or four, you're a top-10 team in the country."
With one of the most demanding schedules in Division II, the Fighting Knights will be tested early in the spring. Perez emphasized belief, preparation, and consistency as keys to success.
"You have to believe you deserve to win and give yourself a chance," he said. "Anything can happen over the course of a season."
The Lynn women open the Spring 2026 season on the road against Ave Maria on Friday, Feb. 6 at 2:00 p.m.
