DADE CITY, Fla. - The Lynn University men's golf team sits fourth overall at +9 after 36 holes of the 2026 Sunshine State Conference Championship, using a strong opening round and steady individual performances to remain firmly in contention at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club. The Fighting Knights were paced by
Simon Roessler, who held the individual lead after round one and remains tied for third at -2, while
Andres Asin surged in round two with a 70 (-2) to climb into the top 10.
Matthew DePinto also remains in the mix, sitting tied for 13th at +2, giving Lynn three players inside the top 15 entering Tuesday's final round.

Round 1
- The Fighting Knights opened the SSC Championship with a strong showing, finishing second overall at 289 (+1), just five strokes behind leader Florida Southern

Simon Roessler led the entire field, firing a 67 (-5) to claim the individual lead after round one
- Roessler's round featured a balanced effort with a 34 on the front nine and 33 on the back, anchoring the lowest score of the day

Matthew DePinto delivered a key supporting round of 70 (-2), finishing tied for second overall and giving Lynn two players inside the top three

Andres Asin added a 74 (+2), placing inside the top 20 to round out Lynn's trio of counting scores and maintain team positioning

- The Fighting Knights posted a 296 (+8) in round two, moving to 585 (+9) overall and sitting fourth on the team leaderboard heading into the final round
- Asin led the way for the Blue and White, firing a 70 (-2) to climb into a tie for sixth overall and provide Lynn's top round of the afternoon
- Asin delivered a steady performance with a 35-35 split, using a strong front nine to build momentum before closing cleanly
- Roessler followed with a 75 (+3), highlighted by a birdie on the par-3 eighth, but settled into a 37-38 day after his opening-round lead pace
- Mascia matched with a 75 (+3), bouncing back from a tough front nine (41) with an impressive 34 on the back, one of the best closing stretches for Lynn
- DePinto added a 76 (+4), turning in a consistent 38-38 round to round out the team's counting scores
- Houghton, who was subbed into the lineup for round two, recorded an 82 (+10) while providing depth for the Fighting Knights
- As a group, Lynn leaned on Asin's under-par round and Mascia's late surge to stay within striking distance, with multiple players positioned inside the top 15 individually
