INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -The NCAA Division II Men's Golf Committee has selected the Lynn Fighting Knights to compete in the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Golf South Regional. Head coach
Steve LeBrun's team will tee off May 7-9 at Valdosta Country Club in Valdosta, Ga.
Lynn enters the regional ranked No. 34 nationally and No. 8 in the South Region. The Fighting Knights have competed in 10 events this season, posting an 81-57-2 record with one tournament victory, two top-three finishes and a 289.7 adjusted scoring average over 30 rounds.
The Blue and White are coming off a strong runner-up finish at the Sunshine State Conference Championship, where they placed second out of 10 teams at +13. Lynn also secured a victory at the National Preview earlier in the season and added a fourth-place finish at the Saint Leo Invitational, where the Fighting Knights posted an impressive 19-under team score.
The Fighting Knights are led by
Simon Roessler, who enters the regional ranked No. 63 nationally and No. 21 in the South Region with a 71.6 adjusted scoring average. The fourth-year standout has played all 30 rounds this season and is coming off a fourth-place finish at the SSC Championship at four-under par.
Andres Asin has been another consistent presence in the lineup, ranking No. 90 nationally and No. 28 regionally with a 71.8 adjusted scoring average. The senior golfer has produced multiple top-10 finishes this season, including a ninth-place showing at the SSC Championship and a top-10 finish at the Saint Leo Invitational.
Matthew DePinto provides depth for the Fighting Knights, ranking No. 286 nationally with a 73.4 adjusted scoring average over 30 rounds. He delivered a solid performance at the SSC Championship, finishing 21st overall.
Cole Ropicky and
Joe Houghton round out the Lynn lineup, each contributing valuable rounds throughout the season. Ropicky highlighted his year with a top-30 finish at the Matlock Classic, while Houghton added steady play across multiple events.
Additional depth for the Fighting Knights includes
Sebastiano Mascia,
Theo Desroches and
Connor Owen, who have all seen action throughout the season and provided key contributions in tournament play.
The South Regional field will once again feature a highly competitive group of teams from across the region, setting the stage for a challenging three-day tournament. With a balanced lineup, postseason experience and the ability to produce low rounds, the Fighting Knights will look to secure one of the top advancing spots and continue their season at the NCAA Championships.
