Roessler records ace, leads Lynn through 36 holes at NCAA Regional

VALDOSTA, Ga. - The Lynn University men's golf team completed the opening two rounds of the 2026 NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional on Friday at Valdosta Country Club, highlighted by a standout second-round performance from Simon Roessler. The senior fired a 68 (-4), one of the top rounds of the afternoon, and delivered one of the tournament's biggest moments with a hole-in-one on the par-3 seventh hole. Roessler enters Saturday's final round tied for 14th overall at -2, while Andres Asin sits tied for 21st at -1 after helping guide the Fighting Knights to a two-round total of +21 against one of the nation's strongest regional fields.

Round 1
- The Fighting Knights opened the NCAA South/Southeast Regional with a 300 (+12) after the opening day at Valdosta Country Club
- Andres Asin paced the Blue and White in the opening round, firing a 70 (-2) after day one
- Asin used a strong back nine 34 to finish under par, highlighted by consistent play and key birdies late in the round
- Simon Roessler followed closely behind with a 74 (+2) entering round two
- Roessler opened with a steady 35 on the front nine before battling through a difficult inward side while remaining inside the top competitors overall
- Matthew DePinto added a 77 (+5), helping stabilize the Lynn lineup with a consistent closing stretch
- Sebastiano Mascia carded a 79 (+7), battling through challenging conditions to round out the Fighting Knights' counting scores
