BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University baseball pitcher
Matt Tiberia was selected in the 18
th round of the 2024 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners, Tuesday afternoon. Tiberia, a 6'3" right-handed pitcher, was the 543rd overall pick and the 18
th selection in the 18
th round.
A Glenmont, N.Y. native, Tiberia paced the Fighting Knight staff with 52 strikeouts in 55.1 innings this past spring. He finished with a 4.55 ERA in 15 appearances with two wins and one save.

He earned his first win of the spring with a six-strikeout effort in 5.0 innings of work with just one earned run against Barry in late March. He followed with a 6.0 inning performance with a pair of strikeouts in a win over Florida Southern. He struckout a season-high seven batters against seventh-ranked Saint Leo on April 19 and closed the season with two strikeouts and the save in a 9-5 win over top-ranked and eventual national champion Tampa.
