West Palm Beach, Fla. – Lynn University's women's basketball team fell 47-45 to Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday night following a last second three-point shot by Jordan Kong. Marquis Lee and Chelsea Patterson scored 17 and 16 points but watched as their three-game winning streak was halted. The Fighting Knights drop to 7-5 overall.
Patterson and Lee carried the offensive load in the first half, combining for 21 of the team's 29 points while shooting 7-of-10 from the field, 3-for-3 from three-point range and 4-of-4 at the free-throw line.
Lynn led by as many as seven in the opening stanza but Palm Beach Atlantic (2-13) slowly crept back in to the contest. Hayley Fields knotted the game at 19 midway in the period but Lee was able to put LUback up with a basket in traffic. Later Kong cut the deficit to two but Patterson answered immediately with a three from the top of the arc.
The Knight's made adjustments in the early-goings after getting out-rebounded 13-6. They finished the half even at 18 boards but the Sailfish won the battle overall with a 37-29 advantage.

Lee went to the line following a hard foul with 1:13 remaining but hit only one of two shots. Lynn then had another chance to make it a two possession game but a three by Patterson rimmed out, setting up the last second heroics.
Lynzey Poole made a cross-court pass to Kong and the junior point guard launched a quick three with three ticks on the clock for the game-winner.
After a quick start that saw it hitting 60% of its attempts, Lynn shot 35.7% from the field while PBA knocked down 36.4% of its shots.
