Melbourne, Fla. – A deflected shot in the 33rd minute was the difference in a 1-0 Lynn University women's soccer loss to Florida Tech on Saturday.  Kelsey Butler stopped a career-high 12 shots for the Fighting Knights.  Lynn sees its record drop to 3-7-2 overall and 3-4-1 in the Sunshine State Conference.

Florida Tech (6-4-2, 2-3-2 SSC) aggressively attacked LU as the Panthers were able to key on three quick attempts.  Butler turned away each shot for the Blue & White to keep the match tied at zero.

A foul in the Lynn third of the field set up FIT for its most meaningful scoring chance.  Christina Edwards fired a shot from 20-yards out into a wall of blue but Kelly Whittaker was able to get a foot up to deflect the ball into the left side netting for the eventual game-winner.

An injury to the Panthers' starting keeper forced the third string into action and LU looked to pounce.  Tatiana Penagos recorded a pair of shots but both looks were off target.

Florida Tech out shot Lynn 21-11 and held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.
