Box Score 2 Ozark, Ala. – Lynn University's 17th-ranked baseball team braved the bus ride and weather to top Stillman 15-2 and 8-0 on Saturday afternoon. Thomas Kain led the charge offensively, going 6-for-10 with a home run while Max Watt struck out nine batters in seven innings and Travis Connolly pitched a complete game. The Fighting Knights improve to 8-2 overall.
Watt had little trouble on the hill against the Tigers but did surrender two runs over his seven frames. The junior right-hander battled a little wildness in his previous start but did not issue a walk against Stillmann.
Kain was 5-for-7 in the opener while three of his teammes, Kyle Schindler, John Borup and Matt Tietz, each had three hits apiece. Tietz also smacked his first home run of the season.
Game two was more of the same for the Blue & White. Connolly did not allow a run in the complete game, surrendering two hits, walking one and fanning four. Kain and Michael Stemle each went deep for Lynn, with Stemle driving in four runs.
The Fighting Knights are back on the diamond on Tuesday, February 24, when they bring their road show to Miami Gardens, Fla., against St. Thomas. Fans can keep up with the game live at LynnFightingKnights.com and receive in-game updates by following @Lynn_Knights on Twitter and Instagram.
