BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University's men's basketball team fought from behind the entire second half Saturday evening against Florida Tech, utilizing a 14-4 run to bring the Fighting Knights within striking distance. The Panthers closed out the second half even stronger than the first stanza, securing a 101-85 triumph over Lynn in the first Sunshine State Conference action of 2016.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

First Half

• Denzel Richardson got the action started with a fast break slam as both sides traded small-margined leads for the first 11 minutes of play.
• A pair of free throws from Vieux Kande put the Fighting Knights back out in front at the 9:07 mark, 24-23. Lynn continued to build its new advantage with a 9-0 run.
• Russell Wilson picked up on block on the defensive end then followed up a missed three-pointer with a tip-in to help Lynn garner its largest lead of the game (38-27) with 4:30 left in the first period.
• Florida Tech closed out the half on an 8-2 run, including a buzzer-beating put-back. Lynn took a 42-40 edge heading into the locker room.
• Landers went 4-of-8 from the floor for nine points while David Johnson tallied seven points, two blocks and two steals.

Second Half

• The Fighting Knights missed their first five shots of the second stanza, allowing Florida Tech to keep its momentum from the first half and start off on an 8-0 run.
• Florida Tech's Corbin Jackson swatted away three blocks in a 3:20 span, forcing Lynn into a 13-point hole.
• The Blue & White turned up the pressure on defense, Johnson threw down a monster dunk, Allen Baez took a big charge on the defensive end and Wilson capped of the 14-4 momentum-shifting tear with a clutch trey to bring the score back within two in the final nine minutes (70-68).
• The Panthers responded by hitting their next four looks and finished the night with their largest lead of the contest, 101-85.

• Landers and Palmer each knocked down 18 points to lead the squad in scoring, with Landers grabbing a team-high seven rebounds. Palmer scored 15 of his points in the second half, finishing 6-of-11 from the field and 6-for-9 at the line.
• Johnson recorded 15 points, two blocks and two steals in a team-high 33 minutes on the floor.
• Wilson tallied a game-high eight dimes and chipped in 12 points. Berry rounded out Lynn's five double-digit scorers with 10, while distributing four assists and swatting a career-high four blocks.
• Florida Tech's Jordan Majors had an impressive showing with 31 points, nine rebounds and seven helpers, while Jackson turned away six blocks.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

• Lynn has lost both of its games this season when surrendering over 100 points.
• There was 19 combined blocks between the teams.
• The Blue & White held a 30-10 edge in points off of turnovers.
