Box Score BOCA RATON, Florida - Lynn University's women's basketball team carried over its hot finish from the previous game to take down Eckerd College 72-58 on Saturday afternoon. Brekia Henderson came up with some huge shots down the stretch in knocking-down a career-high 15 points to help the Fighting Knights improve to 5-18 overall and 2-11 in the Sunshine State Conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- First Quarter: Lynn raced out of the gates with a 13-5 run, forcing the Tritons to call an early timeout. Charla Nelson-James was a dominant force down-low, recording eight points on 4-of-7 shooting. Eckerd closed the gap to three points, 15-12, but the Blue & White would end the half on a 10-2 run to take an 11-point advantage, 25-14.
- Second Quarter: The Fighting Knights continued their assault on the Tritons with Shatorria Baker levying the damage with a three-pointer and jumper in the paint to bring Lynn's lead to 30-14. A 10-0 run from Eckerd, capped off by a lay-up by Victoria Vine, pulled the Tritons to within eight. The Blue & White knocked down four consecutive free-throws, including two as the buzzer expired, to head to the locker room on top 39-26. Baker shot 3-of-4 from the field for seven points.
- Third Quarter: Eckerd looked to get back into the game with three quick points at the start of the second half and was able to close the deficit to six, 41-35, midway in the period. Maddie Herr answered with a three and Brekia Henderson started her offensive explosion with a mid-range jump shot to put Lynn back on top by 11-points, 46-35. The two squads exchanged buckets the remainder of the quarter with the Fighting Knights ending the quarter ahead 56-46.
- Fourth Quarter: Ashley Folsom brought Eckerd within five, 56-51 with a pair of shots only to have Charla Nelson-James, Baker and Henderson connected on three consecutive shots to bring Lynn's lead back to double-figures. A Henderson floating jumper in the paint made it 66-55 and the junior guard hit 3-of-4 shots from the charity strip down the stretch to key in the victory
STATS FROM THE GAME:
- Henderson scored a career-high 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field.
- Nelson-James added 15 points on 7-of-14 shooting and missed out on the double-double with seven rebounds.
- Baker and Tifani Kerrison logged five assists apiece.
- Eckerd had four players score in double-digits, led by Margaret Sundberg's 14 points.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Lynn's 72 points matched a season-high.
- The Fighting Knights' 14-point victory is the most under head coach Julia Huddleston.
- Eckerd scored 28 points in the paint compared to Lynn's 26.
- Lynn's six three-pointers made also matched a season-high.
