Miami Shores, Fla. – Despite a 2-1 lead after doubles and a 4-4 tie with the final match on the court, the ninth-ranked Lynn University men's tennis team was unable to close out seventh-ranked Barry University on Sunday afternoon in a 5-4 Sunshine State Conference setback.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn built an early edge with identical 8-4 wins at the second and third doubles flights. Pavel Mojha and Jean-Baptiste Mateo were victors at the two spot while Jose Porfirio Ordonez and Mehdi Laalej secured No. 3.
- Barry's fourth-ranked doubles duo took the top match, 8-2.
- A quick, unfortunate retirement from Lynn at No. 1 singles knotted the match up and a win from Barry at No. 2 put the home team out in front.
- Porfirio Ordonez tied it back up at 3-3 with a 6-1, 6-4 triumph at the number six position, but the Bucs countered with a straight-set win at No. 5.
- Baptiste-Mateo kept the Fighting Knights alive, grinding out a three-set win (7-5, 5-7, 6-4) at No. 4 to a force a 4-4 tie.
- In a duel of nationally-ranked players at the third flight, No. 19 Mojha took the opening frame 6-3, but No. 33 Fabian Pronnet won the next two sets (6-2, 6-3) to clinch victory for the Buccaneers.

- Baptiste-Mateo wraps up the regular season undefeated in singles action (12-0).
