BOCA RATON, Fla. – After a long week of competition the ninth-ranked Lynn University men's tennis team was unable to keep up with No. 2 Saint Leo University on Sunday, falling to the Lions in Sunshine State Conference action, 5-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn fell behind 2-1 following doubles play.
- Danyang Xu and Jose Porfirio Ordonez picked up the win for the Blue & White at No. 3 doubles (8-5), marking their 11th victory of the season.
- Saint Leo's second-ranked squad of Alberto Barraso-Campos and Alex Theiler took the top flight (8-5) after their side opened up the day with an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles.
- A retirement from Lynn at No. 1 singles and a quick Saint Leo victory at the two spot dug a hole for Lynn, but Mehdi Laalej kept the home team alive with a 6-4, 6-3 triumph over 15th-ranked Egor Panyushkin at No. 3 singles.
- After dropping the first set 6-1, Ethan Itzkovitz battled with Jaime Bueno in the second at No. 4 but came up short, clinching the match for the Lions.
- Jean-Baptiste Mateo and Porfirio Ordonez garnered Lynn's final points of the day. Mateo brought home a 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 5 while Porfirio Ordonez went the distance at No. 6 in a 7-5, 2-6, 10-8 triumph.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The Fighting Knights have played five matches over the past six days, boasting a 4-1 record in that stretch.
