Box Score TAMPA, Fla. – The Lynn University baseball team saw its season come to a close on Saturday evening, falling 11-5 to West Florida in the NCAA South Regional Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The visiting Argos started the scoring in the first frame with an RBI single from first baseman Justin Ambrosino.
- West Florida scratched across another run an inning later, but Lynn's Ryan Donovan cut the lead back to one with a solo homer in the bottom half.
- A pair of extra-base hits put the second-seeded Argos in front 5-1 in the fourth stanza.
- John Silviano opened the home sixth with his 31st long ball of the season, a towering shot that caromed off the hitter's eye in center field.
- UWF erupted for a five-spot in the next inning to carry a 10-2 lead into Peanuts and Cracker Jacks Time.
- Silviano laced an RBI double to right center in the seventh, but the Argos again responded with a run in the top of the eighth.
- Alex Turner plated another Lynn tally in the bottom half, and Kyle Schindler was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring in the final run of the season.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
- John Borup recorded a three-hit day at the top of the Lynn order, giving the Fighting Knights a player with at least that many for the seventh straight game.
- Four other Lynn hitters posted a multi-hit game, helping the team combine for an even dozen.
- Rigo Beltran tossed 132 pitches and tallied seven strikeouts while pitching into the seventh inning.
- Nic Strasser and Jimmy Redovian highlighted the afternoon for the Argos, totaling six hits, six RBI and five runs.
- Starter Brandon Nagem picked up the victory after scattering seven hits and two runs through 5.1 chapters on the hill.
- Four relievers teamed up to hurl the final 3.2 innings for West Florida.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- The Fighting Knights posted an 0-2 record against the Gulf South Conference in the tournament.
- Lynn has qualified for postseason play in each of the last three seasons.
- The team's 103 home runs this spring are a school record and rank first in the country.
