Saint Leo, Fla. – A momentum-shifting comeback victory at No. 3 doubles was not enough on Sunday as the ninth-ranked Lynn University men's tennis team fell 5-2 to sixth-ranked University of West Florida in the opening round of the NCAA Division II South Region 1 Championships. The Fighting Knights finish up the season at 16-8 overall with their 14th consecutive appearance in the NCAA's.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Knights dropped the top two doubles contests, but a persistent come-from-behind victory at No. 3 kept the score close heading into singles competition.
- Mehdi Laalej and Jose Porfirio Ordonez grinded out the doubles point for Lynn, triumphing in a tiebreaker at the third flight, 9-8 (9-7).
- West Florida took the No. 1 match 8-3 and won 8-4 at No. 2.
- Straight-set victories from UWF's 11th-ranked Alex Peyrot in the top singles match and Sebastian Sanchez at No. 5 put the Blue & White up against the wall.
- Porfirio Ordonez kept his side alive with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 6.
- The Argos' clinched the fifth and final point at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-3.
- Jean-Baptiste Mateo won his opening set in a tiebreaker at the fourth flight.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- UWF won both of the matchups against Lynn this season.
- Pavel Mojha closes out his four-year career at Lynn with a 54-10 (0.83) singles record, one of the highest winning percentages in the program's storied history.
