HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bears found the back of the net 9:20 into the match when Jessica Feronti nailed a free kick outside the box and left of center over Lynn's wall and into the top-right corner.
- Lynn was able to regroup to hold possession for much of the half and appeared re-energized when Donish Cole scored in the 50th minute.
- Cole collected a badly cleared ball from Bears' keeper Andrea Leano, took a touch to her left and let loose a low shot into the right side netting to even the match 1-1.
- With momentum in their favor, the Fighting Knights kept the pressure on late in the second half. The squad appeared to have taken the lead in the 67th minute but a shot from the Lynn offense with an open net sailed left of its mark.
- Three minutes later another opportunity presented itself with a one-on-one with Leano but the Bears' netminder turned the shot away with a diving stop and Lynn missed on the second-chance attempt.
- Feronti nearly had another goal late in the match, rifling off a free kick from 30-yards out but Alexa Downie made a leaping punch save to keep the match even.
- The Blue & White failed, though, to properly clear a ball in the 78th minute after Downie made a save. The loose ball fell into the lap of Hannah Van Erden inside the 6-yard box, and the Lenoir-Rhyne striker buried her shot inside the left post.
