STATS OF THE GAME:
- For the third straight weekend, the opposing team got to the Fighting Knight starting pitching early, giving up a combined nine earned runs on 13 hits, but it was the bullpen for the road squad that limited the home team and gave them a chance to come back and win. Enrique Perez and Daniel Nuzzi combined for a near-perfect 2.0 innings, giving up only one walk and allowing the bats to catch fire.
- Jake Rouse led the team with four base hits, but was not the only one having a good day at the plate, as Patrick Dorrian, Karl Ellison, and Alex Turner recorded three each, then Tyler Curtis, Jonathon Corbitt and Miguel Ceballos recorded multi-hit games as well. Every member of the Fighting Knight offense was able to reach base safely.
- The Blue and White plated eight runs, but were unable to bring 10 runners to the plate before the end of innings. The Nighthawks left just five runners on base. Credit the Lynn pitching staff for not giving out as many opportunities late in the contest.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The Blue and White have now gone two straight games scoring double-digit runs, and tonight's 20-hit performance is a new season-high.
- This was the first game of the season with both squads putting up at least 10 runs.
- Ellison leads the squad with a .464 batting average and has recorded three base knocks in two straight games. Corbitt is close behind, and also hitting above .400 with a .407 season average through nine games.
- Nuzzi was able to come into a jam in the ninth, and record his second save of the season
- Perez continues his appearance streak of giving up no earned runs, with five games and counting. He also managed to get his team-leading second win of the young season.
