STATS OF THE GAME:

  • Seay's home run put Lynn on top for the time being, as he clubbed a two-out, two-run round tripper in the top of the first inning after a Patrick Dorrian single extended the inning. It was his third home run of the season.
  • Shayne Fontana registered a hit and a run batted in, knocking an RBI double in the fifth inning to cut into an already sizeable Cougar lead.
  • Luis Beltran was responsible for Lynn's fourth run driven in, tagging a double in the ninth inning that scored Anthony Sanabria.
  • Tyler Zuppa was charged with his first loss of the season, working just 2.0 innings in the start. He allowed five runs on four hits and a walk while striking out one. He surrendered a pair of long balls that accounted for three of those five runs.
  • Jonathon Wake, Alec Hernandez, Ryan Orender, Connor Davis and Billy Facteau worked a combined 6.0 innings in relief, though the Cougar bats stayed hot as the five relievers combined to allow nine runs.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:

  • Lynn has lost three of its four games away from its home field this season, its lone win coming against Miles at a neutral site.
  • With 12 home runs in nine games, the Fighting Knights rank third in the Sunshine State Conference in total homers.
  • Alejandro Martinez threw out one of two men attempting to steal on the day, putting Lynn's total at five runners caught stealing this season to tie for the most in the SSC.
