Palm Harbor, Florida – In their third tournament of the season, the Fighting Knights finished 12th overall and posted a total score of 893 (+41) in the highly competitive Copperhead Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn finished tied for 12th in the first round with a score of 300. The Fighting Knights were led by Eloy Vigil who shot a 2-over par (73).
- In the second round, Lynn posted a score of 303, dropping back to 15th place in the process. Alejandro Madariaga was the best Fighting Knight of the round, posting a score of 70 (+1).
- The Fighting Knights saved their best round for last, shooting a 290 (+6) on the final day of the event. They were led by a 71 (E) from Mariano Ayora Gomez. It was the best round of the tournament for any Lynn player.
- Madariaga led the way for the Fighting Knights, tying for 26th place with a score of 221 (+8). He was one of just six players in the field to score an eagle.
- Vigil finished tied for 42nd after leading the way for Lynn in the first round. He shot a 79 (+8) in the second round before regaining his opening round form for a 73 (+2) in the final round.
- Joseph Hudak was the third-best Fighting Knight, finishing with a score of 227 (+14). He finished the event tied for 50th.
- Individually, Anthony Muttillo was tied for the fifth most pars in the tournament (38). He finished tied for 55th with Gomez with a score of 228 (+15).
- Lynn did their most damage on par 4s, shooting +35 as a team, which was tied for fourth in the event. They also recorded the fourth most pars in the event (171).
- Of the 17 teams competing in the event, 16 of them were either in the latest national top 25 poll or received votes. The top seven ranked teams in the country, including Lynn, were all a part of the tournament. The trophy was ultimately won by Lander University who entered the event unranked.
NEXT COURSE:
The Fighting Knights will compete in the Miami Intercollegiate at the Doral Golf Resort in Miami, Florida on Oct. 25 and 26. This will be their final event of the Fall.
