Fighting Knights win in overtime against St. Thomas

Boca Raton, Florida – Behind Uloma Enyogasi's 23 points, the Fighting Knights outlasted the Bobcats in overtime to win 81-78 in their final tune-up before the regular season.

STATS OF THE GAME:

  • The Fighting Knights led 26-14 after one quarter thanks in large part to 10 points from Rachel Romich. Romich would end the game with 16 points.
  • St. Thomas fought back to get the game within four going into the halftime break. The Fighting Knights scored just 13 points in the second quarter.
  • In the second half, St. Thomas continued their defensive efforts holding Lynn to just 30 points in the half and 12 in the fourth quarter.
  • With the game tied at 69, the two teams went into overtime, where the Fighting Knights struggled to make field goals. However, Enyogasi made a massive three-pointer and followed it up with a clutch two to help the Fighting Knights pull out the victory.
  • Enyogasi ended the game with a double-double after recording 13 rebounds to go along with her 23 points.
  • Trinity Edwards had the second-most points on the team, scoring 19 for the game. She was 3-5 from three-point range and pulled down five rebounds.
  • Kelsi Fizer recorded eight boards, including three offensive.
  • Romich led the way with four blocks, and Dani Lozzi recorded two of her own.
  • Lozzi led the team with eight assists. She also had six rebounds and nine points.
  • As a team, the Fighting Knights shot 44.0% from three-point range.
  • All five starters recorded one steal, as did Kennedi Philson from the bench. Philson also added six points.
  • Morgan Harper saw her first action as a Fighting Knight, scoring three points and pulling down two rebounds.

The Fighting Knights will open up the regular season at home on Monday, Nov. 15 at 5 p.m. against Thomas University.
