STATS OF THE MATCH (GAME 1):
- Lynn quickly fell behind in the first set, falling into an early 6-1 hole. However, the offensive efforts of Nadia Lindner (3 kills) and Milica Kusmuk (4 kills) helped the Fighting Knights claw their way back into the game. Ruth Zijlstra's strong serving helped Lynn complete the comeback and win the set 25-22.
- The second set started off close, but with the score tied at 10, Western Washington upped their energy and pulled away from the Fighting Knights. The Vikings scored 15 of the final 21 points of the set to win it 25-16 and even up the match at one.
- With the teams all knotted up, the third set was a back and forth battle, with neither team finding the ability to pull away from the other. However, the Fighting Knights went on a run at the end, as Kusmuk, Victoria Macaluso, and Sonja Udovcic recorded three kills in a row to help propel Lynn to a 25-23 victory.
- However, as was the case on Friday against Angelo St., the tremendous amount of effort expended by the Fighting Knights to take a 2-1 lead proved to be too much to overcome at the end of the match. Lynn fell in the final two sets 25-20 and 15-11.
- Macaluso, Udovcic, Kusmuk, and Morgan Browne all recorded double-digit kills. Browne scored 16 total points. Defensively, Udovcic recorded 29 digs.
- Setters Emily Edwards and Adrianna Casados balanced the offense with 21 and 22 assists, respectively.
STATS OF THE MATCH (GAME 2):
- Due to the loss to Western Washington, Lynn had to immediately turn around and play Texas A&M Commerce. With only minutes between game one and game two, the Fighting Knights struggled to find their footing and fell to the Lions in four sets.
- The first two sets of the match were incredibly competitive. The Lions were able to sneak by with a victory of 25-23 in set one, while the Fighting Knights won by the same margin in set two.
- With the score tied up at one, the Fighting Knights turned to set number three but weren't able to hang with Texas A&M-Commerce. They fell 25-20, and then by the exact same score in the following set.
