- Lynn went into the break with a 31-29 lead.
- The team came out fired up in the second half, as they quickly watched their lead swell to as many as eight. However, after taking a 45-37 lead, the Fighting Knights had a series of bad turnovers which allowed the Spartans to go on a 10-0 and take the 47-45 advantage.
- For the next six minutes of play, neither team was able to take greater than a three-point advantage over the other as they fought deep into the second half.
- After falling behind 56-55, Lynn went on a 7-0 run to take the 62-56 lead with just under four minutes remaining. But the Spartans answered with an 8-0 run of their own to take a 64-64 lead with just over 1:30 remaining.
- The teams traded points from there, and the Fighting Knights took possession for the final shot of the game. However, Bornelus was unable to sink a three and Tampa left Lynn with a 66-65 victory.
- Lynn outshot Tampa from every part of the court. From the field, the Fighting Knights outshot Tampa 40.8%-39.3%, from the three-point line they outshot them 37.5%-31.8%, and from the free throw line they were more than 20 points better, shooting 82.6% to just 61.1% for the Spartans.
- Where the Spartans had a significant advantage over the Fighting Knights was in the turnover department. The Fighting Knights had 19 turnovers to just 10 from Tampa. A lot of these turnovers led to fast break points, as the Spartans racked up 11 steals to just three for the Fighting Knights.
- Five Fighting Knights scored in double figures. Christian Peevy, who recorded his seventh double-double of the season, led the way with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Jamison Evans scored 12, Bornelus scored 11 and Cameron Gaines and Branden Ellis each scored 10.
- Ellis continued to hound the offensive glass, pulling in four offensive rebounds after grabbing six in Wednesday's loss to Barry.
- Peevy went 9-10 from the free throw line, as he continues to trail only his teammate Bornelus in free throw shooting percentage in the SSC. Bornelus is shooting 91.1% on the season, while Peevy is shooting 89.2%.
