Boca Raton, Florida – The Fighting Knights come up clutch in the eighth inning. A three-run homer by Joseph Rosselli pushed them past Valdosta State  8-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Fighting Knights used their defense over the last two innings to keep the game tied at zero. Jordan Winston has only allowed one hit and threw three strikeouts in that stretch.
• Valdosta State scored the first run for either side, going up 1-0 in top of the third inning.
• Lynn kickstarted their offense in the bottom of the fourth, scoring four runs to take a 4-1 lead.
• Anthony Sanabria smashed a double to center field, bringing home the first run of the game.
• Joseph Encarnacion hit a home-run blast to left field, bringing home Sanabria and Daniel Alfonso.
• Valdosta State scores two runs in the inning. The Fighting Knights still lead 4-3 halfway through the fifth.
• Drew Dwyer relieved Winston at the start of the sixth inning. Winston played in five innings, recording four strikeouts and allowing five hits during that stretch.
• Valdosta State gifted the Fighting Knights in the bottom of the sixth, with two people in scoring position without a hit in the inning. Lynn could not capitalize leaving two on base.
• Valdosta State scores two runs in the seventh inning, regaining a 5-4 advantage.
• The Fighting Knights even the game 5-5 heading into the eighth inning. Brandon Kruzinski was hit by a pitch to lead things off, putting himself in scoring position. Matt Archer hit a sacrifice fly, for the lone run of the inning.
• The Fighting Knights had a huge eighth inning, scoring three runs and taking an 8-5 lead, heading into the ninth inning. Ryan Ford got things started, getting on base due to a Valdosta State error.
• Yuzuki Okamura followed it up with a single to right field, putting a runner in scoring position. One at-bat later Joseph Rosselli smashed a three-run homer, bringing home Ford and Okamura.
• Valdosta State ran out of juice after the eighth inning by Lynn. The Fightings went three up and three down to defeat Valdosta State 8-5
• Dwyer picked up his second win of the season against Valdosta State. Dwyer came in and gave the Fighting Knights a spark, throwing six strikeouts and giving up three hits.
• Okamura led the way for Lynn with two hits in three at-bats, followed by six others with one. 
• Rosselli and Encarnacion both led the way for Lynn, with three RBI's between them.

The Fighting Knights will be on the road for the first time this season to take on St. Thomas Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m.
