Fighting Knights end season at NCAA Regional

Valdosta, Georgia - After a weather delay caused the Fighting Knights to cut their second-round short on Friday, Lynn played nearly one and a half rounds of golf on Saturday, ultimately finishing 18th at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Anthony Muttillo ended the first round as the best scoring Fighting Knight, and that is exactly where he would remain right until the end. In round two, he shot a 71 (-1) before finishing out the event with a 75 (+3). His three-day total of 217 (+1) put him in a tie for 27th.
  • Alejandro Madariaga had his best round over the final 18. He recorded a score of 73 (+1) to put him at 223 (+7) for the tournament. His 73 was the lowest score of the round for the Fighting Knights. He ended the tournament tied for 62nd.
  • Eloy Vigil finished tied for 75th with a three-day score of 226 (+10).
  • Joseph Hudak shot a 75 in the second round, his best score of the tournament. He would end with a three-round score of 230 (+14).
  • Mariano Ayora Gomez shot a 234 (+18) to finish the event tied for 102nd.
  • The Fighting Knights finished the event with the fourth-best score on Par 5s of all participating teams, shooting a combined -14. Hudak, Muttillo and Vigil all shot -5 on such holes for the tournament.
  • Muttillo was one of 15 players to record an eagle.

The 18th place finish ends the Fighting Knights' season.
