MELBOURNE, Fla. – Lynn University graduate student
Emily Edwards took home another weekly honor from the Sunshine State Conference after the league announced that she is the Setter of the Week for the fourth time this season, Monday.
Edwards handed out 77 assists with 17 digs and eight kills as the Fighting Knights endured a 1-1 overall record on the week. Lynn dropped a narrow 3-2 match at No. 2 Tampa on Friday and rebounded for a 3-0 shutout of Florida Southern on Saturday.
Edwards opened with 42 assists in the loss at Tampa and dished out 35 assists in the victory in Lakeland.
She currently leads the SSC and is 11
th in the nation in assists per set (10.98) and she paces the conference and is 17
th nationally in total assists (944).
Edwards' weekly award is the eighth of her career, the most in volleyball program history and she is third among Lynn student-athletes all-time across all sports.
Lynn hosts Barry tomorrow in an SSC showdown at 7:00 pm.
