A year ago, Mertins earned four All-American awards and was crowned National Champion in the 100 butterfly.
Mertins, a 10-time All-American, helped the Lynn women to a program-best seventh place finish at the NCAA Championships two weeks ago.
Mertins is a two-time All-Sunshine State Conference First Team honoree and was named the league's Freshman of the year following the 2021-22 season.
