Renzo Almeida captured a top-10 finish in the 1,500-meter run to highlight a small group of runners from the Lynn University men's track team that competed at the South Florida Invitational, Friday
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Almeida finished in ninth place in the 1,500-meter run in 4:06.05, while freshman
Robert Davidson took 17
th at 4:12.61
- Freshman
Thomas Ashley led the way with 14
th place in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.48
- Sophomore
Joseph Haynes, graduate student
John Ross Donnes and sophomore
Cameron Matejka finished within five places of one another in the 800
- Haynes was 27
th in 2:01.90, Donnes was 29
th in 2:02.94 and Matejka finished in 31
st place at 2:05.23
- In the 200-meter dash, Lynn had three runners competing
- Freshman
Brodie Young-Smith was 45
th in 24.41, freshman Derek Romich was 46
th in 24.49 and freshman
Netsanet Collins took 47
th at 25.38
- Young-Smith finished the 100-meter dash in 11.62 and captured 49
th place
- Senior
Alex Miranda was Lynn's top finisher in the 400-meter dash in 31
st place in 52.17
- Romich was 35
th in the 400 in 53.79, while Collins finished in 39
th place at 57.21
