LAKELAND, Fla. - Lynn men's golf opened its spring schedule with a third place finish at the Matlock Collegiate Classic. Joseph Hudak and Jose Ramirez each shot a 215, -1 to tie for second place – just two strokes off the lead.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn shot an opening round 292 to sit in third place after 18 holes
- The Fighting Knights shot a 281 in the second round, the lowest 18 of any team during the tournament, and entered the final round in second place
- A final round 304 put the Fighting Knights at +13 for the tournament – two shots back of Nova Southeastern for second place and seven strokes off the lead (Florida Southern)
- Hudak shot an opening round 68 to tie for the lead
- He followed with a 75 and 72 to finish at –1
- Hudak tied for second in Par 3 scoring at even par and was fifth among the field in Par 5's at -7
- Jose Ramirez opened with a 74 but shot a tournament-low 65 in round two
- He closed with an even 72 round to tie Hudak for second place individually at –1
- Ramirez led the tournament with 15 birdies and was second among all players in Par 4 scoring at -3
- Eloy Vigil finished tied for 15th with rounds of 73, 72 and 76 (+5)
- He was tied for sixth in Par 5 scoring at –6 and tied for eighth on Par 3's at +2 for the tournament
- Federico Shin started Tuesday in 19th place after rounds of 77 and 69 but ended with an 87 to take a T-55, +17 finish
- Sebastian Rincon tied for 67th with rounds of 81, 78 and 80
