LAKELAND, Fla. – Lynn women's cross country secured a third-place team finish at the 26th FLRunners.com Invitational on Friday morning with a score of 78. The Fighting Knights landed two top-five finishes and placed five runners inside the top 35 of the 6-kilometer race, led by sophomores
Jessica Lombardo and
Annabelle Daley.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lombardo paced the Fighting Knights with a runner-up finish, clocking 23:22.09 at a 6:15 mile pace to set a new personal best by more than 20 seconds
- Daley followed close behind, placing fourth overall in 23:59.64 to notch a personal record of her own, improving by more than a full minute
- Junior
Skyler Gillett grabbed a top-20 result, clocking 25:39.68 for 18th place
- Junior
Mia Gagliardi contributed with a 30th-place finish in 27:07.28
- Senior
Brooke Bond rounded out Lynn's top five, placing 34th in 27:18.32
- Freshman
Rosemary Selke closed the effort with a 40th-place mark of 28:33.55
