Grabowski claims fourth national title, Tsyfarov adds silver as Lynn caps historic week at NCAAs

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Lynn University swim teams wrapped up an extraordinary week at the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday night, highlighted by senior Maurice Grabowski capturing his fourth individual national championship and fifth overall gold medal of the meet, while Max Tsyfarov earned his second silver medal of the week with a runner-up finish in the 200 breaststroke as multiple Fighting Knights secured All-American honors on the final day of competition.

Grabowski once again led the charge for the Blue and White with a dominant performance in the 100 freestyle, winning the national title with a Sunshine State Conference record time of 41.89. The mark represents his fourth SSC record set during the 2026 national championships, capping one of the most impressive individual performances in program history. Lynn added additional All-American performances from Luz Tapia, Tsyfarov and Mariele De Santis during the final session of the meet as the Fighting Knight men finished fifth overall out of 31 teams with 260 points - the highest finish by a Lynn swim team at the NCAA Championships - while the women placed 14th out of 35 teams.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Sat. Finals):
- Tapia earned First Team All-American honors in the 100 freestyle, placing eighth with a time of 50.26 
- Grabowski secured his fourth individual national championship of the meet with a Sunshine State Conference record time of 41.89 in the 100 freestyle 
- De Santis earned Second Team All-American recognition in the 200 backstroke, finishing 14th with a time of 2:01.62 
- Tsyfarov delivered a podium finish in the 200 breaststroke, placing second with a time of 1:53.95 to earn First Team All-American honors 
- The men's 400 freestyle relay team of Vitaly Kostin, Enzo Constable, Paul Melcer and Grabowski placed fourth overall with a time of 2:52.68, earning First Team All-American honors 
- Grabowski anchored the relay with a 41.29 split in the 400 free relay, surpassing his 41.89 national championship time from earlier in the evening while recording the fastest anchor split in the relay field

HOW IT HAPPENED (Sat. Prelims): 
Malaika Schneider placed 25th in the 100 freestyle, taking 0.26 off her entry time with a 51.02 
- Constable swam a 44.51 in the 100 freestyle, closing out his individual run at NCAAs 
- Melcer capped off prelims with a 1:49.19 finish in the 200 back 
  
2026 NATIONALS RECAP:
Men 
- Grabowski cemented his legacy as one of the best swimmers in Lynn history, collecting individual national championships in the 50 freestyle (18.97 - SSC record), 100 butterfly (45.34 - SSC Record), 100 backstroke (45.78 - SSC Record) and 100 freestyle (41.89 - SSC Record) while helping Lynn earn a NCAA Division II record-setting win in the 200 medley relay (1:24.15) 
- He is a six-time First Team All-American in 2026 (four individual, three relays) 
Tsyfarov (four-time First Team All-American) capped off a spectacular junior season for the Fighting Knights, earning second place in both the 100 breaststroke (51.83) and the 200 breaststroke (1:53.95) while also contributing to the 200 medley relay national championship and podium-placing 400 medley relay (3:06.65) 
- Kostin closed out his final season with the Blue and White in memorable fashion, earning First Team All-American honors in the 100 butterfly (46.73 - 8th) and 200 butterfly (1:44.66 - 3rd) as well as the 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay and 400 free relay 
- He also earned a Second Team All-American nod for his contribution to the 200 free relay (1:19.02 - 10th) 
- Constable made an impression in his first season for the Blue and White, earning First Team All-American honors in the national championship-winning 200 medley relay, serving as the anchor of the group as well as the 400 free relay 
- He also racked up Second Team All-American honors in the 50 freestyle (20.05 - 16th) and 200 free relay 
- Melcer earned First Team All-American status for his contribution to the podium-placing 400 medley relay on night three as well as his 100 free split in the 400 free relay while also earning Second Team All-American honors in the 100 backstroke (48.19 - 15th) and 200 free relay 
- Brady Moore also became a Second-Team All-American with his contributions to the 200 free relay 
  
Women 
- Lydia Douthit received two-time First Team All-American status after placing fourth in the 100 butterfly (53.66) and eighth in the 200 butterfly (2:01.23) while also contributing to the 200 medley relay (1:40.75 - 9th), 400 medley relay (3:42.25 - 9th) and 200 free relay (1:36.11 - 16th) 
- Tapia capped off her sophomore season with a pair of First-Team All-American nods in both the 200 freestyle (1:48.66 - 7th) and 100 freestyle (50.26 - 8th) while also contributing to nearly every Second Team All-American relay (800 free relay, 400 medley relay, 200 free relay) 
- De Santis earned Second Team All-American recognition in a trio of individual events including the 200 IM (2:05.68 - 16th), 400 IM (4:20.63 - 9th) and 200 backstroke (2:01.62 - 14th) while also earning honors in the 200 free relay 
- Schneider closed out nationals with a Second Team All-American nod in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.11 - 13th) while also contributing to the Second Team All-American relays (800 free relay, 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay) 
- Adel Pal (800 free relay), Lily Drons (200 medley relay), Ala Piascinska (200 medley, 400 medley) and Ally Webster (800 free relay, 200 free relay) each earned All-American status for their contributions to the Blue and White relay teams
