Grabowski crowned CSCAA Division II Swimmer of the Year after historic NCAA Championships

RICHMOND, Va. - Following one of the most dominant performances in NCAA Division II Championship history, Lynn University senior Maurice Grabowski has been named the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division II Men's Swimmer of the Year, the organization announced this Tuesday.

Grabowski earned the prestigious national honor after delivering a historic week at the 2026 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships in Evansville, Indiana. The Lynn senior captured four individual national championships and five total gold medals, leading the Fighting Knights to the highest NCAA Championship finish in program history while rewriting the Sunshine State Conference record book along the way.

The Neu-Ulm, Germany native swept four individual titles during the meet, winning the 50 freestyle (18.97), 100 butterfly (45.34), 100 backstroke (45.78) and 100 freestyle (41.89), with each performance establishing a new Sunshine State Conference record. He also helped power the Fighting Knights to a NCAA Division II record-setting victory in the 200 medley relay, leading off the championship quartet that touched the wall in 1:24.15.

Across the championships, Grabowski earned seven First Team All-American honors while helping lead the Fighting Knight men to a fifth-place team finish with 260 points, the highest NCAA Championship placement in Lynn men's program history.

The CSCAA Swimmer of the Year honor further solidifies Grabowski's place among the most accomplished athletes in Lynn swimming history. During his career, he has captured multiple national titles, broken numerous conference records and played a key role in elevating the Fighting Knights to national prominence.

With the honor, Grabowski becomes one of the most decorated athletes in Lynn University history and caps his senior season as the nation's top swimmer in NCAA Division II.

Grabowski's historic performance headlined a remarkable week for the Blue and White, as the Lynn men finished among the nation's top programs while several Fighting Knights earned All-American recognition across both the men's and women's teams.

Overall, Lynn Women's Swimming had a total of eight NCAA All-Americans – Lydia Douthit, Luz Tapia, Mariele De Santis, Malaika Schneider, Ally Webster, Ala Piascinska, Adel Pal and Lily Drons

Meanwhile, Lynn Men's Swimming had six All-American honorees – Maurice Grabowski, Vitaly Kostin, Max Tsyfarov, Enzo Constable, Paul Melcer and Brayden Moore
