BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University men's tennis team defeated the Florida Tech Panthers 5-1 in a Sunshine State Conference match. Lynn improves to 15-3 and 5-0 in the Sunshine State Conference play while Florida Tech drops to 10-8 and 1-3 in the conference.
The Fighting Knights took command of the match early sweeping the Panthers in all three doubles matches. The duo of Alessio Iannozzi and Max Kouyate were the first to finish defeating their opponents 8-1 in the second spot. The next doubles victory came from Giulio Gomba and Vlad Cirla with a 8-3 win while Simon Gloeckner and Pavel Mohja finished in the top spot with a close 8-6 victory.
Cirla, Kouyate and Mohja took the courts first for the Fighting Knights. Playing in the third slot Mohja picked up the 6-3, 6-2 win to put Lynn one point away from the victory. No. 23 Cirla fell, 4-6, 2-6, in the top spot for the only Knights loss. No. 27 Kouyate finished the match with a come from behind win after forcing a third set with scores of 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 .
The Blue and White host No. 2 Barry in the final Sunshine State Conference match up of the season. Both squads are undefeated in conference play this season.
