BOCA RATON, Fla.- Lynn University's senior infielders were dominant at the plate in Sunday's 11-8 win over Post University. Thomas Kain went 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs batted in and a walk while Alex DeBellis went 3-for-5 and Ryan Carmona had a career-high three RBI going 2-for-4. Travis Connolly earned the win tossing five and a third innings and striking out five.

Matt Ackerman, who led off the first inning with a single through the left side, scored on a RBI ground out by Matt Tietz. With Kain on third, DeBellis drove him in on a single down the right field line to give Lynn a 2-0 lead.

The Fighting Knights added two more runs in the bottom of the second when Kain had a double down the left field line that scored Ackerman and Donovan Christman who both reached base on balls.

A grand slam by Don Walsh in the top of the third inning would bring Post back into the game tying the game 4-4. Lynn responded well, plating three runs in the bottom half of the inning on a pair of hits including a single up the middle by Carmona that plated two Knights.

A solo home run by Walsh in the top of the fifth made it a 7-5 ball game but Lynn scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh and eighth innings to lead 11-5. PU rallied in the top of the eighth scoring three runs on three hits before Jonathan Eisdorfer struck out David Sarmiento to end the game.

AJ Falleta tossed two thirds of the sixth striking out one batter. Kyle Schindler threw two innings of relief allowing one hit striking out two. Eisdorfer allowed three runs as he closed out the game but struck out three of the seven batters her faced.

Six Fighting Knights recorded hits in the win while Lynn had a team total of 11 hits. Kain improved his hit streak to nine games while Connolly improved to 3-1 on the bump.
