BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University baseball team was tripped up on Tuesday evening, falling 22-14 at the hands of Southern Connecticut State.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Owls scored a run in each of the first two innings before John Borup's triple in the bottom half tied the game.
• SCSU went back to work in third, tallying a three-run inning, but Lynn again answered with a three-run bottom half.
• The fourth got away from the Fighting Knights, as the Owls crossed the plate 11 times.
• After back-to-back singles from Borup and Kyle Schindler in the bottom of the frame, John Silviano slammed a ball over the fence to expand his team homer lead to 10.
• Austin Sprinkle highlighted the home sixth with the first triple of his Lynn career.
• The SCSU offense found three more runs in the seventh to go in front 19-12.
• Kyle Schindler's fourth home run of the season was Lynn's lone tally in the seventh.
• The Owls managed three more in the final frame, and Silviano again went deep in the bottom half to score the game's final run.
