HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Alex Turner started the scoring in the second inning with a solo home run to right field.
- PBA responded in the bottom half by turning a leadoff single up the middle into a run that tied the game.
- Turner and Frank Grandinette singled to start the top of the fourth, and Miguel Ceballos followed with a bunt single.
- Kyle Schindler delivered the big hit of the inning, a double down the left field line that put Lynn in front 4-1.
- The Blue and White tacked on another run in the sixth on another Kyle Schindler base knock.
- The Sailfish started a two-out rally and scratched across a run in the home seventh to cut their deficit to 5-2.
- After another Sailfish run in the eighth, Lynn managed to go on top 6-3 with a half inning to play.
- The home nine posted their biggest inning of the game with a three-run ninth that gave them the momentum heading into extras.
- Hakeem Rhodes singled to right in the bottom of the 11th to plate the winning run.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
- Kyle Schindler continued his recent hot streak, going 3-for-5 at the dish with a double and 2 RBI.
- Turner's home run was his fifth of the season.
- Lynn starter Frank Grandinette allowed one earned run and fanned nine over 6.2 innings of work.
- Payton Smith and Rigo Beltran each tossed two innings out of the Lynn bullpen, with the latter taking his first loss.
- Palm Beach Atlantic outhit their guests 17-11, including three-hit efforts from infielders Sean Visconti and Kyle Simon.
- Sailfish starter Kyle Polaski tossed just three innings before giving way to the bullpen.
- Phil DiLandro gave the home team four innings on the hill before Mitchell Carroll and Sean Horner each hurled one frame.
- Dominic Monda earned the win after delivering two scoreless innings to finish the night.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Friday was the first time this season the Fighting Knights have lost a game in which Grandinette started on the mound.
- PBA has now defeated Lynn twice this season, and both were in extra innings.
