Box Score 2 WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Lynn University baseball team claimed the opener of a doubleheader against Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday afternoon by a final of 5-4 before falling 14-10 in the nightcap.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game 1
- The Sailfish started the scoring in the home first, plating three runs on three base hits.
- Kyle Schindler opened the fifth with a bunt single, and after John Silviano followed with a single, Tyler Curtis bunted both over to start a big inning.
- Ryan Donovan and Alex Turner each added base hits before Frank Grandinette and Eric Schindler each reach on defensive blunders. After five, Lynn claimed a 5-3 advantage.
- Palm Beach Atlantic plated the final run of the game in the ninth on a solo home run from shortstop Mac Hessney.
- Lynn starter Donovan Armas tossed five innings before giving way to the bullpen.
- Mike McFerran and Jonathon Wake combined for the final four innings on the hill, allowing just one run along the way.
Game 2
- PBA again struck in the first inning, scoring on RBI-singles from Sean Visconti and Kyle Simon.
- The Sailfish managed three more in the third before taking a 6-0 lead an inning later.
- Lynn got on the board in the top of the fifth with a solo shot off the bat of Miguel Ceballos.
- The home nine responded in the bottom half with three runs to go on top 9-1.
- Over the next two innings, the Fighting Knights totaled seven runs on nine base hits, highlighted by a bases-loaded double from Kyle Schindler.
- PBA again answered the Lynn offense, tallying three runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 14-8 lead.
- Donovan Christman doubled home a run in the ninth before Silviano plated him from second.
- Five Lynn pitchers combined to toss eight innings on the mound, but starter Jaret Vermillion took his first loss of the year.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
- Alex Turner totaled five base hits on the day, including two for extra bases.
- Wake earned his first save of the year in the opener.
- Eric Schindler came off the bench in the nightcap to post a three-hit, four-RBI game.
- Six Lynn hitters had an extra-base hit on the afternoon.
- Payton Smith was the only Fighting Knight arm of the series finale to not surrender a run.

- The Sailfish have claimed three of the four games between the two teams this season.
