HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn starting pitcher Donovan Armas allowed a Texas League hit in the first inning before fanning each of the next six batters he faced.
- After a bouncing ball went off Armas' glove in the sixth, the first run of the game came in to score on a bases-loaded infield single from Barry second baseman Khalil Denson.
- John Borup doubled down the left field line in the Lynn eighth, and John Silviano was intentionally walked to set the stage for Ryan Donovan.
- Donovan provided all of the offense for the Blue and White on one swing, turning a 2-1 pitch into a three-run shot that chased starter Alex Lavandero.
- Armas took the hill for the ninth and punched out the final two batters to earn his first career complete game.
QUOTABLE:
- "This was a great pitchers' duel today, and both guys really did a great job of keeping the offenses at bay. Our guys had some quality at-bats and looked for any type of opening. Borup's mental fortitude was impressive today, and he kick-started us in the eighth inning to set up the big hit from Donovan. Armas didn't try to do too much, worked both sides of the plate and located his offspeed stuff well. He had to come big for us several times today, and he did it consistently. We have to stay focused on ourselves and take tomorrow one pitch tomorrow." – Lynn head coach Rudy Garbalosa
