HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game 1
- Barry hit the scoreboard first on Saturday when leadoff man Mike Diaz opened the ballgame with a home run to right field.
- The Fighting Knights answered with two runs of their own in the home half after John Borup and Kyle Schindler both crossed the plate.
- The second inning mirrored the first, as the Bucs scratched across a run and the Blue and White again posted a two-spot.
- Barry went for three runs in each the fourth and fifth inning before the home nine posted a trio of scores in the fifth for their biggest inning of the contest.
- Both teams managed a run in the sixth, and a John Silviano double gave Lynn a 10-9 lead in the seventh inning.
- The Bucs mustered a run in each of the final two frames to earn an 11-10 victory in the slugfest.
Game 2
- Silviano homered in the bottom of the first to ignite the Fighting Knight offense in the series finale.
- Donovan Christman scored on an error in the third, and Kyle Schindler trotted in on a wild pitch to give Lynn an early 3-0 lead.
- Christman opened the fifth with a double to left center and scored the first run of a five-run inning on a base hit from Borup.
- Silviano again exited the building, breaking the Sunshine State Conference record for home runs in a season with 27.
- Eric Schindler launched his second homer of the day to cap the big inning and provide Lynn with a comfortable 8-0 advantage.
- The Barry bats woke up in the sixth when rightfielder Ryan Baldwin hit a three-run shot to put the Bucs on the scoreboard.
- The Blue and White got their final two runs in the seventh, and after a Buccaneer run crossed in the eighth, the game was called in the bottom half due to lack of daylight.
QUOTABLE:
- "Our guys are really good when their backs are against the wall. Rigo pitched well, and our guys came up in clutch situations. He focused on making pitches and gave us a great outing by keeping hitters off balance. This was a long and tiring series, so we want our guys to recover and get back to playing the game next weekend."– Lynn head coach Rudy Garbalosa
