Box Score 2 BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University baseball team stumbled on Saturday afternoon, falling in both games of a Sunshine State Conference doubleheader to Saint Leo University.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game 1
- Saint Leo got on the scoreboard first for the second straight game when first baseman Troy Sieber hit an opposite field home run to give the Lions a 2-0 lead.
- Lynn scratched across two in the home half behind RBIs from Frank Grandinette and Ryan Donovan.
- Tyler Curtis reached on a fielder's choice in the third to give Lynn a 3-2 advantage before an RBI single from John Silviano extended the lead an inning later.
- The Lions managed four runs over the next three innings and added two insurance runs in the top of the ninth.
Game 2
- The Lions scored in every inning but the first in the series finale, with a seven-run fourth, an eight-run eighth, and a six-run ninth serving as the big blows.
- Lynn's biggest inning came in the second, when three runners came in to score.
- The Blue and White plated two runs in two of the final three frames.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
- Silviano went 4-for-7 at the dish and added two walks for an on base percentage of .700.
- Curtis, Kyle Schindler, and John Borup each added three base hits for the day.
- Jonathon Wake and Rigo Beltran took the losses for the home nine, while Dylan Collett and Shane Haight earned victories for Saint Leo.
- Chase Turner and Mike Mann each provided five hits for the Lions, while reigning SSC Player of the Week Alex Mata drove in three runs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Saint Leo scored first in every game of the series, but the Fighting Knights are still 13-6 on the season when their opponent plates the first run.
- Lynn is 2-14 this year when being outhit by its opponent.
